We recently caught up with Seamus Carthy of REA Seamus Carthy Auctioneers, of Goff Street, Roscommon town.
Seamus, why did you become a Club Rossie Business Member?
“As a life-long supporter of Roscommon GAA I understand the costs involved in preparing and running teams and the need for support from Businesses. Out of all the Roscommon games that you have seen, what was your most memorable moment?
“The All-Ireland Minor Final Replay in Ennis in 2006.”
And who was the best Roscommon player that you have seen?
“Tony McManus.”
Who is the most fanatical Roscommon GAA Supporter you know and why?
“Well, it has to Seamus Carthy Senior. He has been an avid follower of Roscommon GAA all his life and has never waned in this support. As soon as the League starts each year, he has about eight flags flying outside the home house and never misses a Roscommon game.
