Club Rossie was launched in the Hodson Bay Hotel on February 9th 2014, ahead of the Allianz Football League Division 3 win over Wexford. 10 years on and thanks to your support, the finances of Roscommon GAA have been transformed and significant progress has also been made in developing our facilities.
Our fundraising has been hugely successful, some of the highlights being:
- Win a House in Dublin – Net income – €900,000
- Win a Home in London – Net income – €904,000
- Win 200 Grand – Net income – €334,000
There were, of course, several more, equally as important fundraisers, such as the various Club Rossie Draws for
smaller prize funds which brought in an average of €150,000 net per Draw. The “Club Rossie Bus” is paid for and is generating income from use by various clubs and communities, plus advertising revenue and is a huge
marketing tool for our activities.
In total €5.2 million net has been raised over the past ten years. This income and the great support of our sponsors has resulted in:
- The elimination of €954,000 debt.
- Cash in bank – €1.8m as of the end of 2023.
- A new Gym was established.
- A new Scoreboard
- New seating in the stand in Dr. Hyde Park and you will see new seating is also being installed, replacing the concrete seating in front of the stand. This area will also house a state-of-the-art wheelchair section and new dugouts.
The next phases of work at Dr. Hyde Park are to upgrade the toilets and dressing rooms and put turnstiles in place.
None of this would be possible without the support you and many hundreds of Club Rossie supporters have kindly given to our various fundraisers. For this we are very grateful.
