The newly commissioned Patrons Wall in King & Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park was revealed by Roscommon GAA at a ceremony recently.
Eileen Fahey, wife of the recently deceased Michael Fahey, former Chairperson of Roscommon GAA, unveiled the wall to the public during a ceremony attended by many of the patrons. In a sometimes poignant address, Roscommon GAA Chairperson Thomas Murray acknowledged the many names on the wall that have gone to their eternal reward and thanked all those patrons who signed up for a plaque. He paid particular tribute to the late Michael Fahey for his outstanding contribution to Roscommon GAA. He remarked that the wall is a very fitting and permanent recognition of some of Roscommon GAA’s most loyal supporters and connected the funds raised from the Wall to many of the recent improvements made in Dr Hyde Park. Eileen Fahey spoke and thanked the County Board for their support following the recent death of her husband Michael and said she was greatly honoured to do the unveiling.
There are 100 names on the Patrons Wall, which is a Phase 1 implementation. Another 60 names have been booked and are planned to be in place on the wall in time for the 2027 National Leagues. There is room for another 40 names, and you can order them here: https://clubrossie.ie/shop/dr-hyde-park-patron-relief/ or by contacting the Roscommon GAA County Board offices in Roscommon Town at 090 – 6627176.
The wall was designed, created and installed by Feelystone, Boyle, under the direction of Shane Feely. The Patrons Wall is prominently located on the Main Stand side of the Town End Terrace.
