Senior Footballers make headlines

Roscommon football reached new heights on Sunday, with the boys in primrose and blue mastering their second Munster win in this league with confidence and force.

That was not our only success though – all four of our county teams won their matches this weekend: the senior footballers, ladies footballers, and junior and minor camogie teams.

Headlines praising the senior men’s victory were sprawled across many national papers once again this week, describing it as “emphatic”, “a riot” and “remarkable”.
Here is a selection of some of the best reads:
“Roscommon rout leaves Cork red-faced” – Irish Examiner:

“Rossies find more southern comfort” – Irish Independent:

“Fergal O’Donnell: Roscommon ‘won’t get carried away’ after Rebels demolition” – RTE Sport:

“Cork manager Peadar Healy: It’s unacceptable – it’s a bad result for us and a bad result for Cork football” – The42.ie

Lets hope our teams can make similar headlines this weekend!
